This poem reflects the process of trusting in and relying on God to direct our path. Graphic by Jewel Justice.
“As long as you’re moving,
God can
always push you in the right direction.”
My mother’s words
ring in my ear.

When you don’t move,
you.won’t.move.
You won’t progress.
Making mistakes
while moving
can be better than staying
comfortable
and not moving at all.
At least when you’re moving,
God can and will push you.
He’ll steer you.
Cars in park
can’t drive.
The law of inertia:
an object in motion
stays in motion.
One at rest
is stagnant.
At rest.
Comfortable.
Risk averse.
It has no movement.
Movement—
God is always moving,
breathing,
blessing,
teaching.
He is constantly moving,
advocating
working
fighting!
for who He loves.
He wants us to move with Him.
He wants us to move.
He wants us.
He wants to use us.
Show Himself strong in our lives.
Move on our behalf.
He doesn’t force us.
He impresses us to move,
but He doesn’t make us.
To move with Him
is to allow Him to move
in and through us.
We make mistakes,
and there He is,
gently pushing us on the right path.
He is moving
in our hearts.
Moving mountains
for us.
So let’s move with Him.
Let’s let Him move us.
Because His movement
heals,
renews,
transforms
us.
Move me, Lord.
